Shimano SPD-SLR is Shimano’s entirely redesigned, next-generation premium road pedal and cleat system. Launched as a complete shift from the 20-year-old SPD-SL platform, the new SPD-SLR platform eliminates flex and slop by introducing a 2.3mm lower stack height, an integrated lighter design, and a wider catch zone for a significantly tighter shoe-to-pedal connection.
Crucial Compatibility Note: New SPD-SLR cleats are strictly not backward-compatible with older SPD-SL pedals. You must use them with the new
Dura-Ace PD-R9300 or
Ultegra PD-R8200 pedals.
