The Continental Grand Prix 5000 (GP5000) is widely regarded as the gold standard all-rounder road racing tire. It is highly praised by cyclists for offering a superb balance of rolling resistance, puncture protection, weight, and wet/dry grip.
Depending on whether you run inner tubes or a tubeless setup, the tire is primarily available in two main configurations alongside a few specialized versions:
Core Lineup
-
GP5000 Clincher (Tube-Type): The traditional folding tire designed strictly for use with inner tubes. It utilizes a 330 TPI casing and is noticeably lighter and typically much cheaper than its tubeless counterpart. It features standard colorways including classic Black, Transparent/Tan, and Cream sidewalls.
- GP5000 S TR (Tubeless Ready): The updated premium tubeless model that replaced the older GP5000 TL. It is lighter, faster, features stronger sidewall protection, and is fully compatible with both traditional hooked and modern hookless rims.
